FAQs

Aren’t PR and marketing the same thing? What’s the difference?

We’re so glad you asked! Marketing’s main objective is to drive sales by promoting products and/or services by connecting with a company’s target audience through channels like social media and email marketing. It shows the audience how the product or service solves their problem or helps them achieve a goal.

PR, on the other hand, focuses on establishing and maintaining a brand’s positive image through efforts like media relations and speaking opportunities. Publicity involves managing communication and building relationships between the brand and its target audience. For healthcare organizations, this generally includes stakeholders and the general public.

While they serve different purposes, PR and marketing are closely related and should work in tandem rather than in a silo.

Why is PR important for both brands and individuals?

For any brand entering the healthcare market, PR plays a vital role in establishing and maintaining a positive reputation, communicating effectively, and navigating this complex landscape. It’s crucial in building trust and credibility.

As a healthcare professional, PR can enhance your visibility, showcase your expertise, and create positive perceptions in the community. It can also help in patient education and awareness.

As Bill Coletti said it best, “A company owns its brand, but the public owns its reputation.” That’s why we are passionate about helping businesses protect their brands and reputations.

What is the process for developing a PR strategy?

To develop a PR strategy, we’ll assess your goals and challenges and get you ready to enter the healthcare market. We will do this by identifying and researching your target audience and ensuring your message resonates with them. With a solid understanding of your audience and landscape, we’ll be prepared to conduct the most effective media outreach plan.

How much does it cost, and how long is the commitment?

The cost depends on the package you select, which we can help you determine based on your needs. We require a minimum 6-month commitment for any PR service. Building an effective plan, conducting quality outreach, and measuring results takes time, and we want to ensure we have enough time to provide the best solutions for your brand.

What services do you NOT offer?

Monarc PR does not handle the following services at this time:

  • Crisis management

  • Social media management and content creation

  • Event planning and management

However, we have strong relationships with many wonderful firms and professionals in these areas and would be happy to refer you to them!

Do you guarantee coverage?

No, we can never guarantee you coverage. In fact, no one can guarantee you coverage—so be wary of a firm that claims they can. We recommend avoiding agencies making this claim. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is!
